The problem

Reports were accurate but unreadable: forty charts on a page, all the same size, all shouting.

Process

Shadowed finance teams during month-end close to see which numbers mattered.
Designed a hierarchy of one headline number, three trends and details on demand.
Built a chart grammar with engineering so every new chart follows the same rules.

Outcome

The new overview answers the three questions finance leads asked most, before they scroll.
