The problem

Group trips were planned in chat apps and spreadsheets, then booked separately. Atlas saw people browse together and book alone, somewhere else.

Process

Ran diary studies with eight friend groups planning real trips.
Designed a voting layer on top of the itinerary so decisions happen where plans live.
Built a cost-split flow with the payments team that settles automatically after the trip.

Outcome

Trips now start as a shared board. Proposals, votes and bookings live together, and the cost split settles itself.
